I for one do not understand with a series about call girls how they can show little or no nudity. Only two episodes showed partial nudity of the star & one was a flash in very dim light the other she was topless with another woman which is the only episode I did like. This series overall is just bad. I do not like hereing her drone on in a naration of what she is thinking & it takes away from what is going on in the scenes. I am not stupid & can figure out what is going on by myself. I do not think it is clever or very sexy although the star is a very sexy woman. BAD BAD BAD Post reply 1 out of 7 found this valuable. Before I begin, I must say that this series is one of my new favorites! I love the characters and their stories! I also love how Showtime portrays women in an unconventional way, that we all don't have to be perfect little house wives. We can be drug dealers (Weeds) or we can be independent and strong women who just so happen to be a hooker(secret diary of a call girl)! Anyways... I actually like the series best because it shows minimal nudity. Nothing says SEXY like leaving the rest to imagination. The character Belle/Hannah is a smart, witty, and uber sexy women who knows (sometimes) what she wants. She does her job, and she does it with class. I enjoy the sexual themes (which can either turn out being ultra sexy, or absolutely comical!) Having a hardcore sex scene in the series would actually be a bad idea. It wouldn’t really be a show anymore, but a 30 minute porno. The characters couldn't evolve and the storyline would more than likely fall flat. I enjoyed season 1 and I have high hopes for season 2. So if you're like olehippie1954, and want to see hardcore scenes with a lot of nudity, and untalented actors/actresses, I suggest you DON'T watch secret diary of a call girl. I am like any normal man I like seeing a beautiful naked woman. I too like weeds. I see you did not mention californication which is one of my favorites & there is no hardcore in either of those two. You just read something into it that I did not say. I myself do not like hardcore & did not say I wanted to see hardcore so do not make up things about just because I said I do not like secret diary of a call girl when you do. I suppose I did read a little too much into something you wrote, and perhaps over exaggerated myself. However, you never really clarified if you liked "hardcore" or not. When you said you didn't like the show and wished to see more nudity, (sexual scenes,etc...) one can only assume that you have a more risqué taste. Of course, making assumptions is the equivalent to making mistakes. So again, my apologizes for indirectly calling you a perverted sex fiend. It was very impolite and unlike me to rant on someone that I don't even know! Also, I could understand how some males wouldn't appreciate the show for what it is. It's obvious the series is directed more towards the female audience, I can't even get my own boyfriend to watch with me! Anyways, I do like Californication, I just didn't mention it because I was focusing more on the shows where the leading lady is the stronger character and like I mentioned before, very unconventional. Aug 22 2008, 5:59 PM EDT to olehippie1954, u said u don't like hearing her narrations of what she is thinking, that's actually one of the main points of the show. the show is like her diary, hence the title, so her narrations r like her diary entries. yes u can figure out most of what's going on without her narrations but u don't know what she's thinking without them, all u would know is what u see. without the narrations the show would just be Call Girl lol. To me hearing her go on & on was painful & rather dull. I watched the show mainly because of the title made me think I was going to see a lot of nudity from billie piper who is a very pretty woman. A better title would have been the inner working of a call girls mind. This show is geared toward women not men it reminds me of sex & the city another chick flik which I thought was very dull too. Aug 23 2008, 3:12 AM EDT I have seen more than a few shows in my lifetime where the title starts off diary of & the person who the show was about you did not hear everything that was going on in their mind. So just by the title you would not think that you would hear a narration of what the person was thinking all the time although I could see that happening but you would think that you would see lots of nudity. Aug 24 2008, 3:43 AM EDT well this is the first show i have ever seen in which the title starts off "Diary Of..." so u very well could be right in that aspect. but the fact is that it is her diary and i just can't imagine a show where the main idea of the story is that the show itself is a character's diary, but they don't narrate in it. that wouldn't seem like a diary at all. i do agree though that just from the name of the show, a person would think there would be more nudity than there is. but then again i'm not complaining about that, if i want to see a woman's breasts and nether regions i can just look down at my own lol. but to a guy i could see how the show could be somewhat of a let down. Your one-tracked mind has exceeded far beyond boring. If you dislike the show so much, then why did you even make an account here for the 'Secret Diary of a Call Girl' show!? Also, you evidently watched the entire first season. If the show disappointed you and wasn't to your liking, then why even finish the series? Here's a newsflash for you pal: It's obvious that the chances of a hardcore or full frontal scene (even a lot of nudity) are slim to none. Find a new show already! I also used two & symbols in one sentence big deal. It sounds to me like you were looking for something to attack on a personal level. This is a show not life. I said I expected to see lots of nudity from this show not explicit nude scenes but I do not know what you mean by explicit in this context. Like I said before I like many other men I like to see a beautiful naked woman. This show was geared toward woman. You did say your boyfriend would not watch this show. I only responded because it sounds like I was getting personally attacked & I never attacked anyone personally. I would not attack anyone personally over a show or their personal opinion. As for the reason I kept watching I was hoping it would get better. Have you never watched a show because it showed promise & you kept watching hoping it would get better? Aug 26 2008, 6:43 PM EDT but u watched the entire season! i could understand watching it a few times in hopes that it would get better but not an entire season, that's just silly. if u still didn't like it half way through the season, y continue watching it? just because u like Billie Piper is no reason to torture urself by watching a show u so obviously don't like just because she's the main character. and i don't think Sheenanicole was trying to attack u at first, she was merely pointing out how perverted u were coming off as and in my opinion she was being polite about it. i'm not saying she wasn't attacking u towards the end but at the beginning i don't think that's what her aim was. I am waiting very anxiously that there will be a season 2 and soon. I found this show on Showtime the day I ordered showtime. I watched the entire first season in 1 night. I loved it so much and I had to go to work the following day...It is real, different, Billie Piper is fantastic at her role. I just wish and hope there is more to her story. I love getting inside Belles head and knowing how she's feeling. Being a call girl doesn't mean nudity is involved. Many clients prefer company. As much as I love Belles body, I'm glad this show is not just about her sex life and naked body but the mind of a call girl. That's why it's called Secret Diary of a Call Girl and not the Sex Life of a Call Girl. The show handles this very well I believe and increases it's chances of success. As for this episode, I was amazed and very happy that they didn't rush into the next level for Belle. She's at a place where she is still in touch and maybe when audiences know her and she moves up in the world then she will still seem approachable. It's very tastefully done.
